BBFI Programs: An Overview

Bato Balani Foundation is devoted to help build the nation's future through education development. To achieve well-rounded results for everyone in the education sector, the foundation's programs focus on four major thrusts: teacher development, school development, student development, and special involvements. The projects under these thrusts are designed for the foundation's target beneficiaries who are mainly students, teachers and educators, and educational and research institutions.

Teacher Development:

The foundation is a leading force in teacher development programs. It is best known for training programs in basic education intended to meet the needs of preschool, elementary and high school teachers. The two major programs under this thrust are the How To Be A Highly Effective Teacher seminar series and the Society of Educators for A Better Philippines. The foundation also supports various teacher scholarships, recognition and similar programs administered by educational institutions.

BBFI is also involved in a number of publishing projects that concern education. Since 1995, it has been publishing Quality Teacher, a magazine aimed at developing professional educators in their vocation.

School Development

The Tulong sa Paaralan, Tulay sa Kaunlaran  (TSP-TSK) program provides deserving schools in underserved communities access to quality textbooks and other reference materials.

Student Development

BBFI manages student scholarship programs, recognition and student-oriented projects of its corporate partners, like the Fastech-PUP Scholarship. The foundation is also committed to supporting Calabarzon development by providing scholarships to deserving caddies from the area.

Special Involvements

As part of its commitment to corporate social responsibility, BBFI also manages environmental and sports development programs for its partners. BBFI's Active
Chess Center of Asia aims to develop active chess as a spectator sport in the country and to cultivate new talents in the sport. The foundation also aims to protect and rehabilitate nature and the ecosystem through environmental projects, at the same time cultivating the spirit of volunteerism among its clients' employees
